Background checks

The Emmorton Recreation Council continues to focus on providing a safe environment for our youth. Background checks are now required for every adult volunteer (18 years or older) working with children in every Emmorton Recreation Council Program.

Like every other Rec Council in Harford County, we are on very subjective pass/fail standard. The standard criteria for being approved is:
(1) No misdemeanor convictions within the past 7 years;
(2) No felony convictions within the past 10 years.
(3) A lifetime ban for any domestic violence or any offense of a sexual nature.

Our background check utilizes a secure website, so you can have confidence we have taken steps to ensure your personal information is protected.
